Nige has continued to be an inspiration to us all. To look at him now you would never know that he once held God-like status amongst our dedicated followers. With the voice of an angel and evocative lyrics, he was a master front man. I still remember the time when we headlined the Reading Festival in 81 and he took time out during the day to entertain the crowd by standing on the roof of a car and reciting something (I remember it being a mind blowing experience, but I've actually forgotten exactly what it was about). The crowd nearby went wild though !
Rich (or Rick as he's now known) was an awesome axe-man. Not bad for a left hander. During our tour of the West Coast USA he was pulled off-stage by an enthusiastic female fan and suffered spinal damage as a result. To this day we're not sure whether it was on account of his fused spine or the accident he had as a young child that cruelly stopped him becoming a Heart Surgeon. Or was it the time he was arrested for molesting Swans (not that his part in it was ever proven of course !).
He recently gave lessons to Joe Satriani to help him with his Myxolydian Style of Chord Progressions.
Chris, the tub thumper for Beggers Belief was Christopher "Pearly" Gates. As well as being Beggers Percussionist and Tubular Bells exponent, Pearly provided Spiritual Enlighten. He is now believed to be living in a religious sect, somewhere in Uzbekistan. Unless you know different dear reader ?
Manfred, nearly a member of the band, but not quite. He didn't buy enough drinks at the bar or say enough nice things about our music . . shame really, because he was quite good at Bach ! He's on a few of the albums, and we still have a soft-spot for him in our hearts. I expect he's still got long hair even after all these years.
And moi ! I tried my best . . . lord knows I tried my best.

Welcome to Beggers Belief . . .
Unfortunately time is passing by . . we have fond memories of our megga-star days spent in one of the all-time great rock bands of our era . . Beggers Belief (yes, that's Beggers not Beggars . . we were drunk at the time - OK ?)
We've decided to create this little BLOG to share a few memories and thoughts of a timeless nature with all our friends (well two of them anyway) and well-wishers in the BIG wide world out there.
Some of you may even remember our records (vinyl only I'm afraid - CD's and MP3's weren't invented then) or have seen our gigs. The one at Las Vegas in 79 was of particular note with Nige (vocalist) managing to convince the chief of police that he was related to Robert Plant and could he "waive the speeding ticket on the limo".
Yes, we've got a lot to share . . so make yourself comfortable and I'll begin . .
